Imagine this...enter the main bath, a tiled counter top hosting a vintage green sink. The walls are tiled with coordinating green tiles and don't forget the toilet of the same era. On the left, through the wooden pocket door, was a small room with the vintage green bath tub. Finally passing through the second pocket door would bring you into yet another separate area with a second toilet and sink. It was the most interesting 100 sq foot space I have come across.

Very nice work. In regards to colours, is an accent wall still acceptable style for a bathroom? Some people tell me yes. Others tell me that Cyndi Lauper has more recent relevance... can you settle this debate?
ReplyDeleteAn accent wall can be a very dramatic way to pull an entire room together by ultilizing the exsiting colours of the room.
ReplyDeleteColours can set a mood, attract attention or evoke emotion. Often the importance of colour is overlooked when planning your redesign as it can be quite intimidating.
I suggest pulling your inspirations from nature for that perfect balance. In my opinion, I would have to say that the concept of an accent wall is far from dated assuming your color scheme is en vogue.
There are many colour schemes that you can expperiment with such as complementary, analogous, triadic or monochromatic to name a few. Research is key while experimenting with colour...enjoy your multitude of options. :)
